![]() And I even don’t like to spend hours making a simple graphic for my blog post, Facebook post, or Tweet. To be honest with you, I am not a Photoshop expert. I have also created an online video course showing you to create a space shooter from start to finish, and the course also shows you how to create the framework for a platform game. So, if you’re a blogger, social media marketer, or even an Internet marketer who uses different social channels like Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, and Pinterest to grow the business, you should be aware of what tools you can use to create visual content. You could probably complete the book in a week, if you had nothing else to do. I have written a book that shows you how to create a complete, ready-to-publish platformer from a blank screen. ![]() Warning: blatant self-promotion coming up: I have used Stencyl to teach kids to create all sorts of 2D games and, as you may have seen, twotimingpete is currently creating a genuinely epic game of extraordinary quality. However in practical terms, anyone with basic computer skills can create a game. It's really difficult to quantify 'good', partially because most of the users of this forum will be biased. I could probably create the framework for a basic platformer in 10-20 minutes. If you know how to use the basic Stencyl tools, then you could create the framework of a platformer within hours - by which I mean, less than a morning's work. if you're interested, you can look here for more on my game, as well as links to the youtube videos and stuff, all in one place. I don't mean to be overly self promotional, but I've found that really cool things can be done in stencyl if you tinker around with the basic techniques. Using Stencyl, I'm making a 2D action/adventure "metroidvania" game that has been successfully kickstarted as well as greenlit for Steam. I have trouble keeping a train of thought, I am scatterbrained, and really bad at math. I think I'm sort of the poster child for a non programmer using stencyl, because, although now I do understand some general programming principles, (as a result of using Stencyl) when I started I not only knew nothing about programming, but I don't even have the aptitude for it. shooters, platformers, metroidvanias, beatemups, even RPGs, anything that utilizes sort of ordinary 2D gameplay ideas, Stencyl excels at (I should note that managing data for an RPG using Stencyl can be a bit tricky, but people do make extensions to help with that). ![]() Short answer yes, long answer "yes, but depending somewhat on what you want to do". ![]()
